Fable Reboot Gameplay Revealed

CD Projekt Red Settles Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Lawsuit

CD Projekt Red has finally begun to close several lawsuits launched against the company by Investors over the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which saw the game launch unplayable on base end PlayStation 4’s and Xbox Ones, not to mention the massive amount of bugs and glitches that the game was filled with. As spotted by The Verge, CD Projekt Red looks poised to settle these various investor lawsuits for $1.85 million dollars in exchange for them dropping their suits against the company.

Over the past year, Cyberpunk 2077 has remained a hot issue as the company attempted to patch it into a playable state, being removed from the PlayStation Store, not to mention the large number of refunds issued for the game from various companies. Despite that long road, the $1.85 million set to be paid seems a little lackluster of an ending to these suits, all things considered. With the games production budget estimated at $316 Million, with both production and marketing budgets being recouped, this should not be a large detriment to CD Projekt Red.

A judge is still needed to approve this settlement, but investors in the game already seem receptive to the amount so it should be expected to be closed upon soon. These investors will get this settlement in conjunction with their returns off their investment, which is good since CD Projekt’s financial returns have consistently improved over the last year.

Next year is also poised to prove big for the title. A major update will release early next year, with a DLC expansion set to follow. The next-Gen upgrade was also delayed into next year, with the company wanting to polish it fully, to avoid the issues the game met upon its original release. CD Projekt has also purchased indie studio The Molasses Flood with the intention of the studio working on something in conjunction with one of their IPs, so it is possible that the project is Cyberpunk 2077 related as well.
