CD Projekt Red Offers Refunds for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released last week, but the performance issues, bugs, glitches have forced CD Projekt RED to apologize to customers for the game’s poor quality.

“First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”

As reported in late November, rumors suggested that the development team was not meeting the objectives set by CD Projekt RED’s, the game seemed destined to be delayed. Surprisingly, the game released as promised on December 10, managing to destroy the expectative of fans on Xbox One, and PlayStation4 consoles.

CD Projekt RED’s management promises that they “will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience”.

The first round of updates has just been released and the next one is coming within the next 7 days. Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements are ready.

The statement from the management could make fans wonder why the game was not delayed until the game was finished. And it reveals more of what CD Projekt RED employees have affirmed, Iwinski lied when he affirmed that he would not force developers to crunch, he lied about the current status of the game, and the company also prevented reviewers from revealing the bugs and glitches before the launch of the game.

It seems like CD Projekt RED’s intention was to release the game as soon as possible while the hype was still high, certainly, the company’s best interest was to avoid a market depreciation, something that according to GamesIndustry.Biz, could not be avoided.

How Adam Kiciński expressed to investors reveals how he manages the studio, and how he sees fans, he apologizes to fans and employees but he did not do what he needed to, delay Cyberpunk 2077, and admit that the game was not designed to support PS4 and Xbox One.
