Now that the Battlefield 6 open beta is available to all players, the concurrent player count has drastically increased. According to SteamDB, the beta has now surpassed 521,000 peak concurrent players worldwide. This is not only notably higher than Battlefield 2042’s lifetime record of just 107,376, but it has also surpassed Call of Duty’s highest concurrent player count on Steam of 491,670. According to the publisher, this is the franchise’s biggest Open Beta ever, and warns players that “queues will be expected”. Battlefield 6 will launch fully on October 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Battlefield 6 introduces a host of new features, including the all-new Kinesthetic Combat System, which brings enhancements to movement and gunplay. While a brand new mode called Escalation sees two teams fight to capture strategic control points.
Battlefield 6 also launches with an all-new and improved iteration of Portal – the creative toolset that lets you redraw the lines of war. Portal is more powerful and streamlined than ever before, giving players brand new tools to create completely unique content called Community Experiences.
