Animal Crossing: New Horizons Winter Update Comes November 19

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is receiving its free Winter update on November 19.

Recently announced through an update trailer, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is having another seasonal event, this time in the form of Turkey Day and Toy Day events. Though the update comes November 19, Turkey Day will take place on November 26 and Toy Day on December 24.

There is plenty to do, however, in the interim. From December 1 to December 25, players will have access to crafting special holiday items as they wait for Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer to appear to spread holiday cheer. Turkey Day comes with its own herald, who goes by the name Franklin, a first-class chef who wants to prepare the best Thanksgiving dinner there ever was. In order to do that, the player must gather ingredients for Franklin to whip something delicious up for Thanksgiving day.

Also coming with the update are quality of life improvements and tweaks to gameplay. Home Storage now has the ability to be upgraded to 2400 slots (from 1600), visiting random island dreams will now be available, and island and resident data transfers are now possible. Also coming with the update are more cosmetics with the inclusion of more reactions and hairstyles. To top off this update sundae is an event planned for New Year’s, with the items available for crafting from the beginning of December, giving players plenty of time to gather the appropriate ingredients.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has had a fair share of free updates in the past few months, most notably the Summer update, adding swimming, and the recent Halloween event, adding spooky costumes and ghosts. The updates add new content for players looking for a reason to revisit their personalized islands.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Winter Update is coming to Nintendo Switch, November 19, 2020.
