Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Aliens: Fireteam Elite Given Release Date

Ironically, I started this article to discuss a rumor that Aliens: Fireteams was getting a suggested date for release thanks to the leaker Okami on Twitter. About 5 minutes into the article Focus Home interactive posted an official tweet confirming that the rumors were indeed true.

Aliens: Fireteams Elite is the upcoming videogame based on the Aliens franchise, which in recent years has had both a good and bad go of it. This game will be canon to the universe, set 23 years after the event of the movie, the game will allow players to fight through alien hoards together with friends or solo.

The game will offer for campaigns, each with three missions as part of them. The game is based around the idea of multiplayer replayability, similar to other popular games now. According to their website:

Set in the iconic Alien universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter that drops your fireteam of hardened marines into a desperate fight to contain the evolving Xenomorph threat.

Face off against waves of terrifying Xenomorph and Weyland-Yutani Synthetic foes alongside two players or AI teammates, as you and your fireteam desperately fight your way through four unique campaigns that introduce new storylines to the Alien universe. Create and customize your own Colonial Marine, choosing from an extensive variety of classes, weapons, gear and perks, battling overwhelming odds in this heart-pounding survival shooter experience.

Most recently the survival horror game Alien: Isolation, setting the player against one Xenomorph that stalks you through the level, received positive reviews. On the converse side Aliens: Colonial Marines was critically panned. Money Sega had given for the game was used instead on other projects, according to an unnamed staffer at the time.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite will release August 24th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Steam.
