During a live stream with Twitch streamer andyTHPS, Ex-Pro Skater Tony Hawk revealed that Activision had plans to develop a remastered collection of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 following the success of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. However, these plans were canceled after Blizzard Entertainment acquired vicarious Visions. According to Hawk, Activision took pitches from various developers but was unsatisfied with them. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Epic Games Store.

andyTHPS: “If there’s a [remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater] 3 and 4 or whatever, you know how to reach me.”
Tony Hawk: “Yeah, I mean, that was the plan. Even up until the release date of this [Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2], we were going 3 and 4. And then Vicarious got kind of absorbed, and then they were looking for other developers, and then it was over.”
andyTHPS: Did Activision just not have faith in it?
Hawk: “They were actually—I mean, the truth of it is they were trying to find someone to do 3 and 4, but they just didn’t trust anyone the way that they did Vicarious. So they took other pitches from other studios. Like what would you do with the [Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater] title? And they didn’t like anything they heard. And then that was it.
“I wish there was someway to bring it back. I mean, who knows? Maybe when all the dust settles, we’ll figure it out.”
