According to Paramount Global’s senior vice president for games, Doug Rosen, a new third-person action RPG based on the 2020 graphic novel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is currently in development. The novel follows the last surviving turtle, whose identity is left a secret until the end, in a city ruled by The Shredder’s grandson.
According to a recent interview with Polygon, Rosen stated that the game will be a more mature and darker take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and is inspired by games such as God of War. Additionally, the game will be a single-player experience with players mainly using a single playable character. However, Rosen also hinted at the possibility of other characters being playable during flashback sequences. The game is reportedly likely “a few years off.”
