A recently filed patent for a new Nintendo device has been discovered online. As spotted by Game Rant, the device is seemingly a dual screen gaming device that can be split in half. Images showing the device’s blueprint shows a structure similar to the Nintendo 3DS. However unlike the 3DS, both screens can fold over each other but will still be operable while closed over. The patent may indicate Nintendo’s future console plans but it may also just be one of the company’s scrapped ideas. According to several anonymous sources from VGC and Eurogamer, who have “knowledge of Nintendo’s next-gen console”, Nintendo’s next console will launch in the second half of 2024. According to several rumors the next console will have an 8-inch LCD screen at launch.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, the My Nintendo Store and select retailers at a suggested retail price of $69.99. The Nintendo Switch OLED Model – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition system, featuring a special design (game sold separately), is also available at a suggested retail price of $359.99.
Additionally, two accessories—a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller ($74.99 MSRP) and a Nintendo Switch carrying case ($24.99 MSRP), both with designs from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—are also now available to purchase.
