Rumors recently surfaced online about Sony allegedly acquiring Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED, after a prominent leaker claimed they were aware of Sony’s plans to do so. However, in a recent earnings call, CD Projekt president and CEO Adam Kiciński disproved the rumors and stated they were untrue. Additionally, Kiciński stated that Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion will be featured at the upcoming Summer Game Fest‘s Play Days event, and will be playable.
In response to an attendee asking about the rumors, Kiciński replied:
“Nothing has changed in our end
We want to remain independent. We have, I believe an excellent strategy. Not easy to execute, for sure, but it’s very exciting to follow our own path. So it’s a pure rumour.”
