Xbox Is Re-evaluating It’s Approach to Games Exclusivity

Microsoft has released a new mission statement for Xbox, revealing that the company is reevaluating its approach to exclusivity and AI. This suggests that its strategy of launching games across multiple platforms is being reconsidered. “Along the way, we will reevaluate our approach to exclusivity, windowing, and AI, and share more as we learn and decide,” the statement reads.

Additionally, the company announced that it will rebrand from Microsoft Gaming to Xbox, stating that the new name better reflects its broader ambitions. “Our best work happens when the full stack moves together. ‘Microsoft Gaming’ describes our structure, but it does not describe our ambition. So, we are going back to where we started and changing our team’s name. We are Xbox,” the statement reads.

Microsoft Gaming recently announced new pricing for its Game Pass subscriptions. Game Pass Ultimate has been reduced from $29.99 to $22.99, while PC Game Pass now costs $13.99, down from $16.49. Additionally, future Call of Duty titles will no longer be available on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. New Call of Duty games will be added to the service during the following holiday season, approximately a year later, while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will remain available. This announcement confirmed several recent rumors and reports.
