Nvidia Will Reportedly Not Release New GPUs This Year

According to a new report from The Information, Nvidia will not release its latest GPU, the rumored GeForce 50-series Super, this year. The report also claims the company plans to cut production of the current RTX 50-series. Anonymous sources cited by the site say Nvidia is instead prioritizing AI chips and data center hardware due to a RAM shortage. In a statement provided to Insider Gaming, Nvidia said, “Demand for GeForce RTX GPUs is strong, and memory supply is constrained. We continue to ship all GeForce SKUs and are working closely with our suppliers to maximize memory availability.“ Nvidia has also recently claimed it will help address RAM and graphics card shortages by relaunching older hardware, with the RTX 3060 reportedly set to return in Q1 2026.

According to a past report, South Korean outlet Newsis, citing anonymous sources and an insider, the current RAM price hikes impacting the tech market are expected to worsen and will also affect graphics cards. The outlet reports that sources suggest the price of the RTX 5090 will experience a devastating increase from $1,999 to as much as $5,000 for a single unit by 2026. Additionally, AMD’s RX 9000 series is allegedly set to follow suit, with a similar price hike, although it may not be as severe.
