Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Free to Play Until Feb 14

2K Games and Firaxis has recently announced that Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is free to play on Steam for the next couple of days to celebrate the release of the latest expansion – Gathering Storm. The game is also having a 70 percent discount from its base edition through the most expensive Gold Edition dropped from 127.92$ to 40$, this special offer will last until February 18.

The Gathering Storm expansion will have for the first time in the franchise a leader able to lead two different civilizations.

Eleanor, duchess of Aquitaine, was queen consort of France from 1137 – 1152, followed by England from 1154 – 1189. She was one of the most influential figures of the Middle Ages, thanks to her vast land holdings inherited at a young age, making her one of the most sought-after brides of the time.

She was a leader in the Second Crusade and is credited with establishing many of the royal court’s chivalric rituals– the social codes rooted in Christianity that guided the behavior of knights and women of high social standing.

Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.

Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.
