Resident Evil 3

Resident Evil 3 Achievement Coming to Resident Evil 2

An achievement which links Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 2 together appeared today, one more tidbit to tease fans following RE3‘s official announcement.

As reported by Eurogamer, a couple weeks ago eagle-eyed fans of the franchise discovered a secret, hidden achievement that had mysteriously appeared on RE2‘s Steam achievement list. As of today its objective is no longer hidden from view, informing players that somewhere in Racoon City, they will find a letter left behind by RE3 protagonist Jill Valentine.

As noted by Eurogamer, there is no word yet on when this letter will actually appear in-game for players to seek out.

Set abuzz yesterday by the official reveal of Resident Evil 3, during the PSN State of Play broadcast, the gaming community continues to express excitement for the upcoming remake. Resident Evil 2 is poised to take home Game of the Year at the 2019 Game Awards show, scheduled for broadcast tomorrow—December 12. Should it win the ultimate prize, it will mark the second such accomplishment for the title, as it also received the 2019 Ultimate Game of the Year award at the Golden Joystick Awards.

Resident Evil 3 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC via Steam on April 3, 2020. Fans who pre-order this epic title will also receive the exclusive Classic Costume Pack, featuring the original design for Jill Valentine, as well as the original hairstyle for Carlos Oliveira.

Complementing the action-packed single player campaign coming in RE3 is Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetrical 4 vs. 1 multiplayer game that was previously known by its working title of Project Resistance. Originally unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, Project Resistance allows players to become one of the Masterminds behind the scenes—assuming the role of Resident Evil characters such as Annette Birkin, conducting a series of deadly experiments on other players.
