Prey ‘Recycle Everything’ Trailer

Prey ‘Recycle Everything’ Trailer

In honor of Earth Day, Bethesda has released a new trailer for Prey that centers around recycling and crafting.

In Prey, the latest game from Arkane Studios, you are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You’ll have to rely on the tools you find on the station – along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities – to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive.

Prey releases in just a few short weeks on May 5, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

“You can recycle almost anything in Prey,” says Creative Director Raphael Colantonio. Once you break down items (and enemies) into their component parts, you can use the raw materials to fabricate new items – everything from essentials like ammo and medkits to exotic gear like the Artax Propulsion System and the Neuromods themselves – provided you have the appropriate fabrication plan.

Of course, you can also use the Recycler Charge to clear a room and create even more raw materials – but be careful. “It’s a prototype device, so it’s not safe to use,” warns Lead Designer Ricardo Bare. “You can end up recycling something important. Or even yourself.” It’s worth the risk, though, because the Recycler Charge isn’t just a great way to clear a room – and possibly reveal some new pathways through Talos I – but also a powerful weapon.

“When there’s no Recycler nearby, you can bring the Recycler Charge into a room, toss your items together and throw your Recycler Charge in there,” Colantonio says. “That’s why the TranStar engineers created this device. But obviously using it as a weapon is more fun.” Just jam it onto a Typhon and step back to a safe distance as your foe implodes, delivering a bounty of raw materials for all your crafting needs.
