Pragmata Making “Stead Progress”, Capcom Confirms

During an integrated report this week Capcom has confirmed that their upcoming game about a creepy-looking spaceman and a little girl, entitled Pragmata, is making ‘steady progress’ during its development. Despite this fact, however, we still do not yet have a concrete date to expect it to release, or any more information to go on when trying to figure out what it actually is.

Pragmata will also have a lot of young talent working on the project according to this report. Capcom’s Executive Corporate Officer, Yoichi Egawa, stated of Pragmata that it will offer a “chance to acquire know-how and skills through hands-on experience in the field as they are assigned to the development of popular IPs and major titles.”

What we do know about the game is that it will be set in the near future and feature a “profound story”. It has also been stated it aims to take full advantage of the PlayStation 5. First showcased at the PlayStation Showcase in 2020 it has remained quiet since then leaving us only a teaser trailer with a character that looks kinda like the Kojima Production Mascot to try to go by. Originally it was set to release at some point in 2022, earlier this year it was delayed into 2023 with no timeframe as to when it could be expected.

During this same integrated report, we also learned that Resident Evil 3 Remake, which received more mixed reviews than its predecessor Resident Evil 2 Remake, is considered a ‘hit’ by the company, making it has sold in line with expectations. We also learned that the RE Engine, named such since it was built to power Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, will continue to evolve in the future. The engine has become a staple of the company, being used across multiple franchises including Monster Hunter, and Devil May Cry since it was introduced in 2017.
