Overwatch – The Rated R Side of Overwatch
As many already know, April is a month of the Uprising event. Overwatch is diving back into its infamous in-game PVE event, with a small twist this time around. The original event featured a collection of skins, emotes, voice lines, and sprays accompanied by a story driven plot in which four characters (Tracer, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, and Mercy) attempted to stop an Omnic factory. This time around, we get to see the dark side of Overwatch known as Blackwatch.
Overwatch “Retribution” will be arriving April 10th and highlights a particular moment in Black Watches history. While there are many characters who took part in this secretive, more rated R side of Overwatch, the trailer shown here highlights Reaper, Mccree, Genji, and Moira (four of the more popular members of Blackwatch at its birth). The trailer begins with Jack Morrison (Soldier 76) interrogating them on their mission details and really shows how the two have begun disliking each other to some degree. The trailer seems to imply a sense of stealth that was ruined (by unknown causes) and thus leads to an all-out brawl as the four-fight through waves of enemies attempting to escape. We hear new dialogue from each character in turn, and even get to see their ults in use against these AI enemies.
The trailer then shows off multiple of its new enemies, showing players the forces they will be fighting in this undoubtedly challenging fight for life. There appear to be Talon Omnics that function similar to Genji, Widow, and one that even looks like an altered, more fearsome version of Orisa. Players can fully expect a fresh and exciting challenge, in this PVE event.
As a side note, don’t forget to claim your one free loot box. If there are skins from last years Uprising that you really want, they will cost one thousand gold vs the newer skins, which will cost three thousand to outright buy. Also, make sure to earn your seven weekly arcade loot boxes for a higher chance at some of this knew, Black Watch themed gear. The event launches April 10th.
