No Resident Evil 3 At The Game Awards, Says Producer

Despite leaked images and speculation, Resident Evil 3 will not make an appearance at this year’s Game Awards.

According to a reddit AMA session with Geoff Keighley, Producer of the Game Awards, Resident Evil 3 will not be shown at this year’s event, and he additionally states that nothing about the show has leaked as of the date of his AMA.

Keighley did, however, state that fans can look forward to the unveiling of about ten new games and projects that as of yet haven’t been spoken of. He then goes on to point out that one shouldn’t always believe what they read on the internet.

Elsewhere in the AMA, Keighley talked about what it was like to assemble the three biggest names in gaming on one stage, referencing last year’s Game Awards with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all appearing together.

It should be noted that Keighley dodged any and all questions regarding Elden Ring and whether or not it would appear at the Game Awards, and likewise said almost nothing about Half-Life: Alyx, other than that the game is “really good.” This, of course, led to much speculation within the reddit thread, as it’s expected both of these titles will make an appearance at the show, even if Resident Evil 3 will not.

The Game Awards are scheduled for December 12, a mere six days away. Lovers of gaming should make sure to tune in if for nothing else than to see who takes home the highest honor in Game of the Year 2019. This year’s nominees for that prestigious award are: Control, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and The Outer Worlds.
