Mafia Definitive Edition Delayed Until September

2K games has announced today that Mafia : Definitive Edition will be delayed until September 25 due to challenges stemming from the pandemic. The original release for the game was set on August 28.

“Though we’d originally planned to release the game one month earlier on August 28, finalizing everything in time for that launch date has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, and the last thing we want to do is compromise the quality of the experience,” said Hanger 13 in a statement.

“From the beginning, this has been a passion project for us. Many of our developers helped create the original Mafia, and all of us are committed to crafting an updated experience worthy of that timeless classic. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make Mafia: Definitive Edition the very best it can be for all of our fans worldwide.”

Though the remake will be delayed the definitive edition for Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 have already been released on consoles and PC. Fans of the Mafia series can purchase the trilogy as a bundle and enjoy Mafia 2 and 3 while they wait for the release of the first, which will be on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The first game received very positive reviews from critics and fans alike, the trailer for the remake shows brand new graphics, action, and more. 2K also released an announcement today that they will be revealing new gameplay on July 22.
