Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Gets Release Date

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Gets Release Date

Originally due out in 2020 before the game would be delayed multiple times, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has given us a new release date that will hopefully be the last one before the game releases. The game is officially set to release on April 5, 2022, with this date looking a little more final than previous ones.

Released alongside a 6-minute gameplay overview it will quickly become clear why the game has taken so long to release, which is in contrast to most other Lego games including the other Lego Star Wars games that have been released in the past. The game features overhauled combat and interactions, with a vast amount of content to do that in.

The game, as the name implies, will combine the entire 9-film Skywalker Saga together, allowing players to experience events and play characters from each, with over 300 characters to be unlocked and played. The game features a vast array of planets to explore and experience as you travel through a galaxy far, far, away.

Fans of the new material from the Star Wars universe, such as The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, or Rogue One, the game looks to have you covered as well. Several DLC packs for material outside the Skywalker Saga have been announced and include the ones I just mentioned and more. They will be available in the Deluxe Edition of the game as well as individually for digital download.

Fan fans of the original games which helped kick off the Lego video games in 2005, you might miss the characters mumbling instead of being fully voice-acted like they are now. The main menu will feature an option to replace the voice acting with the classic mumbles for an added helping of nostalgia.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is being developed by longtime Lego game developer Traveller’s Tales and will be available for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
