Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 Showcased At PlayStation Showcase

After remaining quiet for some time after being showcased last year we have finally seen more for Gran Turismo 7. This look at the game came late during their PlayStation Studios showcase of upcoming games during the PlayStation Showcase.

The trailer decides to open up showcasing its beautiful vistas and cars that players will be driving when the game finally releases. All of this is accompanied by a classical melody played on the organ. Of course, most players probably expect their racing games to look beautiful but this trailer really does set the stage well.

Soon that classical track gives way to something more electronica when the game actually begins to showcase gameplay, as well as in-game menus, though that is a minute in. This starts with showing us a hub world where we can probably select whichever mode we want to play. Later on, we see a world map that seems to offer up a vast amount of tracks from around it.

The car customizer also showcases how much control you have over how your car looks. This includes color schemes and decals that can be sized and placed wherever you might want them. The photo mode also allows you to show your car off with extremely detailed settings.

The gameplay itself is showcased in the first-person mode, giving players a more tight view of the race. Of course, the game can be played in third-person mode as well, and based on the detail of the cars, I think that will be my preferred camera choice.

Better yet, unlike many of the titles showcased today, we did get a release date for the game. Gran Turismo 7 will be speeding its way onto PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022.
