Far Cry 6 Release and Preorder Guide

Far Cry 6 has been confirmed at this week’s Ubisoft Forward showcase after a series of leaks in the previous week. Ubisoft has also made several editions of the game available for pre-order. There are four editions to choose from, Standard, Gold, Ultimate, and Collector’s.

Those who purchase the title for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive a free upgrade to the game on the corresponding next-gen console.

Far Cry 6’s main protagonist is played by Giancarlo Esposito, with “an opening sequence directed by Emmy Award winner Patrick Clair,” of Westworld and True Detective. Many have theorized that the game is likely an origin story for Vaas, though this has yet to be confirmed. The title will be returning to its roots and will be set in a tropical island “locked in time”.

Preordering Far Cry 6 for any platform entitles you to the “Libertad Pack,” which gets you a “Libertad Outfit” and Discos Locos “weaponize disc launcher.”

The standard edition is priced at $59.99 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. It will include the game along with the preorder bonus.

The gold edition is priced between $99.99 and $109.99 and will include the base game, pre-order bonus, and a season pass for future DLCs.

The ultimate edition is priced at $119.99 and will include the base game, pre-order bonus, season pass, as well as three content packs that will include cosmetics. The packs are named Jungle Expedition, Croc Hunter, and Vice.

Far Cry 6 Collector’s Edition will include the base game, bonuses, season pass along with a “high-end display model” of Tostador, “the flamethrower from the game, as well as an assembly guide by Tobatron and a “unique Collector’s Case” based on Tobatron’s “iconic art style.” Additionally it will come with a keyring, stickers, the soundtrack, and a 64 page artbook. The Collector’s Edition is an Ubisoft store exclusive and is priced at $199.99.

The game is set for a February 18 release date next year.
