Check the official announce trailer down below:

“The world is filled with stories of legendary heroes and treacherous villains. Of fantastical creatures and wondrous places where nature and magic live in perfect harmony. Not all stories have happy endings. But yours has yet to be written.”

The upcoming Fable seems to be a reboot of the RPG franchise originally developed by Lionhead Studios, the series consist in a fantasy role-playing game where player’s choices determine their path into becoming a hero or a villain. The series is very attached to Xbox, the first entry debuted for the original Xbox console in 2004, Fable II launched for the Xbox 360 in 2008. The latest entry released in 2010, all the games are set in Albion, a world similar to Medieval Europe.

Three spin-offs were released but failed to get the attention of players: Fable: The Journey was designed for Kinect, this release was followed by a family-friendly beat-em-up Fable: Heroes. In 2016 Fable Fortunes managed to be crowdfunded but was not the game fans wanted.

Xbox has announced that vision for the next generation of gaming starts with players at the center, certainly, the announcement of a new Fable is one of the most exciting announcements of the Xbox Games Showcase. The franchise seemed forgotten as two spin-offs failed to attract the attention of fans.

The new Fable is confirmed to be available for Xbox Game Pass at launch. Xbox Game Pass will feature “a deep library of more than 100 high-quality console and PC games.”
