Bluepoint Games’ New Project To Be Its “Best Achievement”

In a recent interview, Bluepoint Games president Marco Thrush stated the current PlayStation 5 project the studio has in the works will be the team’s “greatest achievement.”

“We originally remastered Shadow of the Colossus for the PS3 and then remade it for the PS4,” Thrush told SegmentNext. “It’s the only one we’ve touched twice and to date it is our greatest achievement, so it’s easy to say that is our personal favorite. However, there’s no question in our minds that our current project will become the achievement we’re most proud of.”

Thrush refrained from speaking of any intimate details regarding the new project’s production, saying the studio will remain silent in the most part until Sony itself is ready for an official announcement. However, recent leaks and teases have hinted that the unnamed endeavor is a remake of Demon’s Souls.

On Thanksgiving, the official Bluepoint Games Twitter feed contained a cryptic message that appeared on the surface to be giving thanks, but was worded so oddly that it immediately sent fans into a whirlwind of speculation, as this was the second such tweet to appear on an American holiday. The first appeared on Halloween, and together the two seem to hint at a multitude of possible game remakes and remasters, including Demon’s SoulsX-Men, Syphon Filter, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, and more.

This year’s The Game Awards ceremony is only a few days away, and there are around ten as-of-yet unannounced projects that will make their debut there, according to a Reddit AMA with The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley. Perhaps Bluepoint’s new title will also make its debut at the awards ceremony, but nobody knows for sure, and it seems Bluepoint isn’t about to spill the beans.
