Character of Babylon's Fall

Babylon’s Fall Square Enix News

It’s been a while, YEARS to be exact since fans of developers PlatinumGames Inc. Babylon’s Fall received any information about their upcoming RPG game. Luckily during the Square Enix Presents Live E3 stream today, we finally got some exciting news! First announced during E3 in 2018, news about this fantasy role-playing adventure has been few and far between.

While no release date was announced Babylon’s Fall is looking like a Sony/Steam-only release- sorry Xbox players. Square Enix’s website offers this description for the game:

“BABYLON’S FALL is a new game developed in partnership with PlatinumGames – the action masters behind games like NieR:Automata.

You’ll take the role of a Sentinel – part of a group of powerful warriors. With a group of other players, you’ll enter the titanic Tower of Babylon in search of a great legacy that sleeps within.

The first thing you’ll probably notice when you look at the trailer and screenshots is the game’s distinctive brushwork art style. It gives this uniquely compelling world the appearance of a medieval oil painting, and the game a unique personality that matches the action.”

A new trailer debuted today showing some gameplay and characters exploring around the map. While some were excited to see this new trailer it quickly garnered mixed reviews. The 3-minute trailer located on Square Enix’s Youtube page has racked up over 13,000 views, but viewers have been quick to smash the dislike button. Fans were quick to point out the choppy graphics and low resolution.”

While the game is still currently under development, players are hoping that PlatinumGames takes notice and fixes some of these issues. The game itself is described as a “live-service title.” Babylon’s Fall sends players on adventures where they can co-op together, battle with powerful weapons, and experience a unique-striking art style.
