505 Games announced today the acquisition of the cyberpunk ninja action game Ghostrunner to its portfolio.
505 Games worked with Polish publisher All In Games back in October 2020 and now has taken full control of the IP and has retained “all licenses for the technological solutions used in the game.”
505 Games confirmed that the IP was handed to them for the cost of €5 million. The agreement stipulates that All In Games will continue to receive a share of profits from the game’s ongoing sales.
As revealed by All In CEO Piotr Żygadło, 505 outbid the Polish publisher for the chance to acquire the Ghostrunner IP ahead of launch but he admits that his company “was not willing to pay the amount” expected”
“Ghostrunner quickly turned out to be a huge success, which convinced them to submit an offer – one of those “hard to refuse”. This transaction shows that the strategy we adopted was correct. The 5 million euros gained through the sale, which will go exclusively to our company, will allow us to speed up our development processes.”
Ghostrunner offers a unique single-player experience: fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells the story of a dystopian world and its inhabitants who fight to survive.
The game is a hardcore FPP game packed with lightning-fast action, set in a grim, cyberpunk megastructure. Climb Dharma Tower, humanity’s last shelter, after a world-ending cataclysm. Players will have to make their way up from the bottom to the top to confront the tyrannical Keymaster and take revenge for all humanity.
